What Happened to Perma Pier? A Guide for Former Perma Pier Customers in Texas

Perma Pier or Permapier

If you hired Perma Pier Foundation Repair (sometimes written “Permapier” or “Perma-Pier”) to repair your foundation, you may have recently found that their phones go unanswered and their offices are closed. Perma Pier has ceased operations and is no longer providing service to its customers.

For many Texas homeowners, that raises a few pressing questions. Is my foundation still protected? What happens to my warranty? Who can look at my home if something changes? This guide explains what we know, what your options are, and how Dura Pier Foundation Repair can help.

Did Perma Pier Go Out of Business?

Yes. Perma Pier, which served homeowners across Dallas–Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio, stopped operating in 2026. Homeowners with completed repairs, scheduled projects, open quotes, and pending warranty requests have all been affected.

If you’re in any of these situations, you’re not alone, and you still have good options.

How Dura Pier Is Connected to Perma Pier Customers

In connection with our purchase of certain assets of Perma Pier, Dura Pier Foundation Repair received the project information, design documents, and historical job files for projects previously completed for certain Perma Pier customers.

This matters for you. When a new contractor looks at a previously repaired foundation, they usually start blind. They don’t know how many piers were installed, where they were placed, how deep they went, or what the original repair plan was designed to accomplish. Because we maintain many of the original records, our team can often evaluate an existing installation faster and more accurately than a contractor starting from scratch.

What we are not: Dura Pier is an independent company. We did not acquire the Perma Pier business and are not its successor. We have not assumed Perma Pier’s warranties, guarantees, service agreements, obligations for prior work, claims, refunds, credits, or other liabilities, except as we may expressly agree with you in writing. Any work Dura Pier performs is new work under a separate written agreement with you.

What Happens to My Perma Pier Warranty?

This is the most common question we get, and we want to give you a straight answer.

Any warranties or obligations issued by Perma Pier remain solely the responsibility of Perma Pier and/or its successors. Dura Pier cannot honor, extend, or take over Perma Pier warranties.

What we can do is give you an honest, professional assessment of your foundation today. If our evaluation shows your existing system is performing well, we’ll tell you so. If it shows new movement or problems, we’ll explain what we see and your options for fixing it. Any repairs we perform come with Dura Pier’s own warranty, which applies to the new work we install.

What Should Former Perma Pier Customers Do Now?

Whether your repair was finished years ago or you were waiting on a crew that never arrived, these steps will help you get back on solid ground.

Gather your paperwork. Find your contract, repair diagram, warranty certificate, invoices, and any engineering reports. Even if we have your job file, your own copies are valuable.

Check for warning signs. New or widening cracks in drywall or brick, doors and windows that stick, uneven or sloping floors, and gaps around window frames or trim can all indicate foundation movement.

Don’t wait on problems. Foundation issues in Texas clay soils tend to get worse through wet and dry cycles. A small problem addressed now usually costs far less than a large one later.

If you paid a deposit for work that wasn’t performed, you may want to contact your credit card company or bank, file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, or talk with an attorney about your options. Dura Pier cannot issue refunds or credits for payments made to Perma Pier.

Schedule an independent evaluation. A qualified foundation specialist can tell you whether your existing repair is holding up and what, if anything, needs attention.

How much does a foundation evaluation cost?
Dura Pier offers free, no-obligation foundation evaluations throughout our Texas service areas.

My Perma Pier repair seems fine. Do I still need an inspection?
